About Shutters

Shutters are the one window treatment that becomes part of the house. Hung right, they outlast the paint on the walls. We've been building and fitting them for San Antonio homes since 1929, and the fundamentals haven't changed: a solid panel, measured to the window and hung so it sits flush.

Hardwood or faux-wood?

Most of our shutters are basswood, a light, stable hardwood that takes paint and stain cleanly and won't warp across a wide panel. For bathrooms, laundry rooms, and anywhere humidity runs high, we'll usually steer you toward a faux-wood or composite that won't mind the moisture. We'll tell you which makes sense for each room when we see the space.

Fit is everything

A shutter that's a quarter-inch off reads as off. So we measure every opening ourselves and build to those numbers, rather than ordering a stock size and shimming the gaps. Louvers come in a few widths. The common ones are 2½-inch and 3½-inch, and the right choice depends on your window size and how much glass you want to see when the panels are open.

Where we install

Our showroom is on McCullough Ave in San Antonio, and we cover the surrounding Hill Country from there. We've fitted shutters in Boerne, Bulverde, New Braunfels, and the Dominion, along with most of the communities in between. If you're within reach of San Antonio, we can almost certainly get to you.

Installed by our team

The crew that measures your windows is the crew that hangs the panels. We don't subcontract installation. That's how we keep the fit tight and stand behind the work years down the line.
